Gripping Storyline of God of War: Ascension

Kratos unknowingly kills his wife and daughter after being betrayed by Ares, the God of War. This makes an unbreakable blood oath that haunts him. Six months later, feeling guilty, he breaks his promise to Ares, which makes the three Furies—Megaera, Alecto, and Tisiphone—angry. They are the eternal enforcers of broken oaths. Orkos, the son of Ares and the Oathkeeper, helps Kratos while he is in a hellish prison. He tells Kratos about a dark plan: Ares wants to use Kratos to kill Zeus and take over Olympus. Kratos breaks free from his chains and sets out on a dangerous journey through ancient Greece to break the bond and face the person who betrayed him.

Kratos fights chimeric monsters and corrupted gods as he makes his way through the poisoned mazes of the Oracle of Delphi, the flooded ruins of Atlantis, and the brutal Trial of Archimedes. Flashbacks show his Spartan past, how he made friends with mortals, and how the Furies’ illusions change reality. Kratos uses the Oath Stone to break free from his bonds, but to win, he must make the ultimate sacrifice: Orkos’ death to end the curse. The story ends with a huge siege on Ares’ mountain fortress. This story of revenge and broken people sets the stage for Kratos’ god-slaying saga, which mixes epic lore with deep emotions.

Revolutionary Gameplay Mechanics

Ascension takes the series’ signature combat to a whole new level, turning it into a symphony of violence.
